Michigan MDS or other BM disease patients?

Need contacts from others in MI who have battled the insurance folks. Will be needing to change to Medicare in October, need a supplementary plan and drug plan. Anyone have any success (or not) stories to guide me in selecting coverage? Hubby has MDS.
