The Los Angeles Hope, Steps & A Cure Walk, a fundraising and awareness event to benefit the AA&MDSIF (http://www.aamds.org), will
be held in conjunction with the 3rd Annual Mia Hamm and Nomar Garciaparra Celebrity Soccer Challenge (http://www.miafoundation.org/soccerchallenge/) on Saturday, January 16, 2010.
The Walk will begin at noon on the campus of California State University, Dominguez Hills and end just prior to the start of the Soccer Challenge at the Home Depot Center at 3 pm.
You can register to join the walk, set up your own team to walk with you, or click here (http://www.firstgiving.com/process/teamarea/default.asp?did=2063&TeamId=88760&EventId=71786) to join team "Ruth and Friends," to be led by Marrowforums administrator, Ruth Cuadra.
To register as an individual participant or to set up your own team:
Go to the signup page (http://www.firstgiving.com/process/raisemoney/default.asp?did=2063&skip=home). Select "Jan 16, 2010 - Los Angeles Hope, Steps & A Cure" and follow the instructions.
As part of the registration process you'll have a chance to join a team, set up a team, and invite family, friends, co-workers, neighbors--anyone who wants to support the AA&MDSIF--to walk with you.
The registration fee is $25 per person. Each walker is encouraged to set a personal goal of raising at least $250. You can collect donations in person or ask your friends and families to sponsor you online.
