Walk for PNH in New York City

The PNH Research and Support Foundation (http://www.pnhfoundation.org) will hold a 2-mile Walk for PNH on Sunday, September 10, 2006 at 11am in Riverside Park, New York City.

The Walk for PNH, which raises money for PNH research and patient care, will be held in memory of PNH patient, Bob Bisher. Click here (http://www.pnhfoundation.org/walk/event.aspx) for more information.

The Walk for PNH was a great success. Along with patients and their supporters, the Walk was attended by hematologists and nurses from the New York area and a busload of employees and family members from Alexion Pharmaceuticals, who came from Connecticut.

A total of 150 people participated. The Walk raised $38,000 for PNH medical research through the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (http://aamds.org/).

Dr. Sara Higgins, organizer of the event and of the PNH Research and Support Foundation (http://www.pnhfoundation.org/), says that plans are already underway for next year's walk.
