Hey guys,
I was wondering if you all would like to start a thread of our current stats. Participation is entirely optional, but I thought it might be neat to see all of our "MDS details" in one place. I hope this won't offend anyone. I was just curious! I'll go first...my mom is actually the one with MDS, so I will post on her behalf:
Name or username: Melody
Age: 61
Part of the World: South Florida
Diagnosis: Diagnosed August, 2010. Secondary MDS RAEB Type 1 - 8% Blasts w/ complex chromosomal abnormalities.
Treatment: 6 months of Revlimid...didn't seem to work...blasts increased. Will probably be starting vidaza soon and we are seeking information about stem cell transplant at Moffitt.
Anything else? - My name is Melissa and I am 27. I am the mommy of an awesome 15 month old son. My mom got MDS after having been in remission from stage IV bartholin gland for over 5 years. She is currently working as a school teacher. She's a tough lady. If anyone can beat it, I believe she can!
