Does anyone know of a great docfor for MDS/MPD, U 2012 in IL

Hi All,

I was diagnosed with myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative disease, unclassifiable and thrombocytosis in November 2012. I am looking for a caring, knowledgeble MDS/MPD, hematology oncology doc who is open minded about treatment options and good with patients, knowledgeable. Tired of do what I tell you and don't ask any questions attitude. I would prefer someone out of University of Chicago or Loyola medicine.

Your recommendation would be appreciated.

Hello Rachale.
I am not familiar with anyone in the Illinois area but I have heard of Dr. Teferri (?spelling accurate) at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. He is an expert in myeloproliferative disorders and would be good to get an opinion from. He could also probably recommend someone in your area to see. Good luck tytd
