The 2nd annual Houston 2015 Hope, Steps & A Cure Walk and Frontier Fiesta 5K for the Brave, and Brave Little Soles (https://friendraising.donorpro.com/campaigns/106), a fundraising and awareness event to benefit the AA&MDSIF (http://www.aamds.org/), will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Frontier Fiesta on the central campus of the University of Houston, on Cullen Blvd. across from Cougar Place.

The event is being held in collaboration with Frontier Fiesta (http://www.uh.edu/fiesta/index.html) and University of Houston (http://www.uh.edu). It will be a day of fun, raising awareness, and connecting with fellow patients and families.

The event will include:
Hope, Steps & A Cure Walk
Frontier Fiesta 5K Run
Brave Little Soles, a fun kids' run in the green space around the event activities.
Group photo like the one above
Team photos
Awards
Inspirational guest speakers
Moment of Remembrance
Lunch with wristband purchase

You are invited to register for the event and/or donate to the fundraiser, and to help spread the word about this annual fundraiser. 100% of all donations go directly to the AA&MDSIF.

This year's Walk is dedicated to Linda Kemper, Coordinator for the Houston Community of Hope and 2014 Volunteer Coordinator.


Information

We'll be walking through an on-campus park-like environment.

Walk registration begins at 8:30am. The Walk begins at 9:45am. Walkers can choose either the 1-mile or 2-mile route.

5K registration begins at 8:00am. The 5K Run begins at 9:30am.

The registration fee is $25 per person for the Walk and $30 for the 5K Run, with discounts for students and kids.

Virtual Walkers (supporters who won't be at the event) are the same price.

Each Walker and Virtual Walker is encouraged to set a personal fundraising goal and invite friends and family members to sponsor you online.

1. If you can attend
Go to the Registration (https://friendraising.donorpro.com/campaigns/106/register) page, fill out the form, check the "Waiver" checkbox, and click Next Step.

If you'd like to join a team, click the Join Team button. (You can even start your own team.)

Review your registration summary and click the Checkout button.



2. If you can't attend

If you can't attend the event, you can register as a "Virtual Walker". Use the same instructions, but select the radio button for Virtual Walker on the first page.



3. To make a donation
Click here (https://friendraising.donorpro.com/campaigns/106/search_registrant) to donate to a walker or runner. Click on their name, read their fundraising page, and click the Support Me button.

Click here (https://friendraising.donorpro.com/campaigns/106/search_team) to donate to a team. Click on the team name, read their fundraising page, and click the Support Us button.

Both named and anonymous donations of any amount are welcome. Every penny goes to the AA&MDSIF.

There is still time to register for this event; or become a "virtual" walker; or support a walker or team (even a dollar is good).

If you know a runner, tell them about it. There is even a run for little kids (Brave Little Soles)
