MDS and CML?

I haven'y heard of this so this next week should be another learning situation. I have been diagnosed for the last 16 months for MDS. Now with the 9;22 chromosome the question will be "do I have CML?" or do I have both? I will be having my 11th BMB on Monday to get more information. Has anyone heard of someone having both MDS and CML?

i can't say that I've seen this one. there is mds unclassified, but it does not have the translocation that you have. when i talked to one of my doctors a couple of years ago, he indicated that the standard of practice was o treat the disease that most closely matched diagnosis and change over to the other disease's treatment if needed.

i do hope you get some clarity from the doctor this week
