Is it clinically relevant if you have the extra chromosome (in my husbands case trisomy 8) in ALL cells analyzed as opposed to having only a percentage of the cells affected? Does it make a difference in prognosis?

Carrieridge,
I believe it does matter. On my most recent biopsy I had a monosomy 7 in 6 of the 20 cells examined. My doctor said "well you have monosomy 7 but only in 6 of the cells". That would lead me to believe it does matter.

Best of luck

Carrieridge,
Here is an article on trisomy 8 and references the number of cells with the abnormality.
