Does anyone know if Neulasta is used to raise WMC for Vidaza patient?

Hello AliceKay,

Yes, I believe so. When I was supposed to start Vidaza a year ago, the physician told me she planned to order it to combat the increased neutropenia expected from the drug. It lasts longer than Neupogen. She was going to order the new form of it though, that is applied to the skin before you leave their office and it self injects the next day. I don't remember the brand name. I have seen TV commercials on it; and I bet it is a fortune as Neupogen is billed at about $4000 per shot at my office. I hear one can get some bone pain from it when it stimulates the marrow, so maybe consider asking for some sort of pain med. Good luck with your treatment!
