Marrowforums, the discussion forum for patients with bone marrow failure diseases, will celebrate its second anniversary at the upcoming AA&MDSIF Patient & Family Conference to be held in Washington, DC, July 27-29, 2008.

A special session led by site co-founders Ruth and Neil Cuadra will give Marrowforums members a chance to meet and get to know each other. It will also help introduce other attendees to Marrowforums. During the session, attendees will see demonstrations and learn about forum features designed to help you get the most out of the time you spend at Marrowforums. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions.

The Marrowforums get-together will be held on Monday, July 28 from 5:45pm to 6:30pm in the hotel's Salon H room.

You can still register (https://www.aamds.org/aplastic/information__hope/patient_and_family_c/2008_patient_confere1.php) for the conference at a cost of $150/person.

We're looking forward to seeing forum members at the Get-Together on Monday.

The Get-Together at last year's Patient Conference in Las Vegas went well. Marrowforums members were pleased to be able to talk to each other. Online exchanges can be supportive, but can never be quite as personal as a face-to-face meeting.

At each Get-Together we also meet people who hadn't heard of Marrowforums before the Patient Conference but are curious. We explain the site's purpose and invite them to join.

We're likely to get a number of new forum members during and after the conference. We'll welcome them and do our best to help them. The experiences they bring to the forums will expand our ability to help each other.
