Wednesday is my day of Rest!!!

I have almost made it... Wednesday is my day of rest... I have had some issues with nausea but they have had lots of meds to help out. I have one more dose of chemo tomorrow then they flush my system for the transplant. I really do appreciate all the words of encouragment. I think the think that has bothered me the most is not being able to leave the room as my ANC was at .4 when I showed up... But that too shall pass... Again thanks for the support... Will let you know how it goes...

Cam,

Patients usually fear those low ANCs, but during a transplant their white count is expected to drop to 0 before the new immune system kicks in. It's a bit mind-bending to think of it as a sign that things are going as they should. Kind of like becoming friends with your enemy, but only temporarily.

My wife explained another contradiction to me during her transplant. Nobody likes to be trapped in a hospital room, but after spending days in her isolation room while she had virtually no immune system, she started to feel protected in there. When they told her that her white count was high enough that she could go back to a regular room, she found it kind of scary.

I hope that the nausea is minimal and gone soon, and that your day of rest will actually be restful.

Cam, sounds like everything is going as planned......a friend of mine shared his experience of the prep work and he mentioned that it was the hardest part of the procedure.
Hang in their, you are going to do quite well.
Our thouhts and prayers are with you.
