ASH 2008 abstracts

Hi all,
Now we can read abstracts from the hematology conference in San Fransisco Dec 2008. There is much info about MDS - more than 350 abstracts.http://ash.confex.com/ash/2008/webprogram/start.html
Kind regards

Hi Marlene,
I saw that there are 68 abstracts about AA - many of them are about both AA and MDS.
Kind regards

I searched on AA also. The one that I found interesting was on Telomere lengths and recovery/relapse. I wonder, if at some point, if they'll start checking telomere lengths as part of a standard work-up.

Thanks again. I don't know how you find all this stuff but you do a really good job at keeping on top of the lastest data...better than most docs I must add.

Hi Marlene,
Thanks for the kind words :)! I think it will take a long time before they will be able to chech Telomeres lengths. I hope they soon will be able to see if for example Vidaza will have effect without waiting four months .

You know my dx was myelofibrosis for more than one year so I belong to 3 support groups for patients with that dx (or polycytemia or thrombocytopenia). Then I have thrombocytopenia and belong to a support group for patients with Immune Thrombocytopenia to be able to follow all drugs for thrombocytopenia.

Looking at all posts in these lists have taught me to have Google alerts about all interesting drugs and all interesting companies as favorits. Then I know when the four important conferences will show their abstracts online. Most dr:s simply can´t spend as much time at their pc as I do since I have retired. Kind regards
