Hope, Steps & A Cure Houston is a fun and festive walk to raise community awareness about bone marrow failure diseases while raising much needed funds for the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation (AA&MDSIF) to provide programs and services to help patients and families.

The inaugural walk will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Lynn Eusan Park on the campus of the University of Houston, in collaboration with the university's annual Frontier Fiesta. Marrowforums members are invited to participate in the events, sponsor a participant, or make a general donation. Fundraising has already begun!

Hope, Steps & A Cure Houston will be a day of fun, connecting with fellow patients and families, hearing inspirational speakers, and three events you can register for:

1. The Hope, Steps & A Cure Walk
Walk with your family and your support team, at your own pace.

You can join a team as you register or afterwards.

Registration options include the Frontier Fiesta wristband for adults or children. The adult wristband includes lunch and two variety show entry tickets. The wristband for children includes lunch and unlimited rides and activities.
2. Frontier Fiesta 5K for the Brave
A competitive 5K race.

3. Brave Little Soles
A Kid's Fun Run.

Participation is free but a donation to the AA&MDSIF is welcomed. Registration will be on-site.

So this was my first 5k and first hope steps and a cure (I volunteered at the bethematch walk run) if you haven't been I strongly reccomend! It was such an amazing experience of comradery, true hope and the most determined group of people I have ever met. I saw a woman about to have a transplant running!
Anyway weather it's volunteering, running, walking, or even signing up the littles for tot trot its a fun way to give back to an organization that has given a lot to many of us
