SF Bay Area AA Specialist?

Can anyone please recommend a hematologist in the Bay Area? I am moving to Alameda and need a new doctor asap. There seem to be hundreds to choose from - I am looking for one specializing in AA. Please help?

Hi, JeriM!

Welcome to the Bay Area! I am from the southern end of the San Francisco bay area and am not familiar with doctors in Alameda, but you will be fairly close to both UCSF and Stanford (about an hour from each depending on traffic), and they do have satellite offices in other, possibly closer, cities throughout the bay area. There is also an AA&MDS Community of Hope support group (you can find it on Google) that might be able to give you the names and numbers of AA specialists close to your new home! Hope your move goes smoothly and that you enjoy your new home!

The San Francisco Bay Area MDS Support Group is a Community of Hope that focuses on MDS, but members of the group may be able to recommend specific doctors with expertise in bone marrow failure, meaning that they may be experts with aplastic anemia as well.

The support group has its own Marrowforums thread so you don't have to look far for contact information!
