BMB Do you know what this means?

Got my bone marrow biopsy it was negative for Mastocytosis but it says I have "mildly hypocellular marrow showing maturing trilineage hematopoeisis" . Does anyone have any idea what that means?

Hi Vicmjones! I'm not a Dr. or anything close, but it seems to me like that might mean that the marrow is making all three cell lines. Cells that are maturing to go into the bloodstream. Mildly Hypocellular meaning a little more than the normal. Just my two-cents worth...

What are you being treated for and what meds/dosage are you taking?

Again, I could be wrong but that's my understanding with the info. you have shared.

I agree. And that's good news because it's normal.

I think you have that backwards. Mildly hypocellular marrow means marrow that has less than the usual number of cells. The doctor can tell you if that's a concern, depending on the context (e.g., symptoms and other test results). It's good news that it's only mild.

Thanks for catching that Neil...yes, it does mean mildly less than normal. Either way it does sound good to me :)
