Cyclosporine and Gums

Hi Everyone,

I'm sure I am not the only one who experienced overgrown gums when taking cyclosporine. I was sure I'd end up with no teeth exposed and I would be gumming all my food. When the dosage was reduced to 100 mg a day, I finally got my mouth back. Just a word of encouragement to any who are faced with the same problem.

Cyclosporine and Gums -

Thank you so much for this post! My father was so up lifted to hear this. Really is struggling to have any appetite because of the toughness of any food due to his gums. Its hard to know what is harder on the gums - the cyclosporine or the low platelets!

Hi Sue, Are you able to give me an estimate on how long it took before you felt a difference in your gums? Dad came off cyclosporine cold turkey today from 300mg and looking forward to seeing his teeth again. Thanks!
