I'm an AAMDS "Story of Hope"!

I don't know how many of you noticed, or made the connection, but I was featured in the December AAMDS newsletter as a "Story of Hope".

You can read it here

I never quite got around to writing a succinct version of my story here for everyone, so it's nice to have a version of it written out if people don't want to wade through my super-long, play-by-play account in the Transplants forum!

Congratulations, Melissa.

Your story definitely belongs among the Stories of Hope, to inform and inspire other patients, even although it had to omit so many details to turn years of ups and downs into a handful of paragraphs.

I'm surprised they didn't choose a finish-line photo.

It's because the story was written before the marathon, and the author just slotted in my finish time at the last minute before publication. :)

I've got a few photos from the Amsterdam marathon here if you'd like to see, though. I'm too cheap to spend the €€€€€ for the official race photos and videos so you'll have to trust me that I managed a sprint finish! And besides, my friends' photos from Km 26 and from the after party were much nicer anyway! :)
