One Year Birthday!

:DYesterday I celebrated my one year birthday since my transplant 1-11-11!! I have some gvh in my liver, skin and eyes but medication is keeping them all very tolerable. I have not had a bone marrow biopsy since pre transplant. The dr says he can tell by my blood that I am 100% donor and that my donor cells are working so good that it is unlikely there would be any bad one's left. It is anticipated that the gvh will go away and perhaps reappear on and off. I can handle all of that just fine. I didn't think I would survive the initial chemo rounds - and almost didn't. Keep your hopes up all and walk a close walk with God and he will comfort you. God is Great. Lori

Happy rebirthday, Lori! That's wonderful news. Don't forget - the gvhd helps keep the cancer away.

My one year biopsy showed 100% donor (aka my brother) cells. I am so thankful. The cyclosporin is keeping my gvh of skin and liver in good control, such that they are going to try weaning me down! I still have to get plugs put in my eyes and hopefully they will be better too. God is good.
