myelodysplasia treatment

I was on Thalomid for two months and had severe reactions to the drug. Now Vidaza is being considered. I would like feed back from someone who has or is taking this drug.

my dad just started taking vidaza. He is on day five and has the 7 day treatment. He gets his blood checked Monday. The only side effect so far is diarrhea. He gets procit once a week. Will let you know further developments. My dad has MDS RAEB. His last blood count was 8.8.

Thank you for replying to my ? about Vidaza. I have mds RAEB, have monthly transfusions since May and my hgb is usally around 9.5 when we transfuse. I also have been on ex-jade with good results lowering my ferratin levels. I am aphrensive about starting Vidaza as I had such bad results with Thalomid. Shirley
