I am a mother with a son that has aa. its hard to see your child beening sick. My son has had it for over one year, some of the treatment are doing good.H now has to have both hips replaced. I PRAY EVER DAY FOR THE PAIN AND THAT TO GET BETTER. I keep a good out look for my son.

How old is your son, cskidmore? What treatments has he gotten?

Treating any ongoing pain should be a top concern for his physicians. If he's in any pain they aren't aware of, make sure the doctors hear about it.

I asked about his age because children who are old enough to write (or even just draw) may feel better if they get to express themselves on paper. Maybe that would be useful for your son.

Some young patients find it comforting to put happy face stickers or sad face stickers on a calendar to show which days were better or worse than the day before. It gives them a chance to see that even though some days are bad, some days are improvements.

My son is 21 YEARS OLD . he has a dr feter in columbia missouri.His counts have keep coming up since about 4 or so months ago .he is on the bone marrow list, cause we had his24 year old sister tested .His sister wasnt a match. our hearts were so broken that his sister didnt match.

The news that your daughter wasn't an HLA match for your son must have been very hard for all of you to hear. It's just luck, and there's only a 1 in 4 chance of a particular sibling matching, but you always hope you'll get that match. I hope they find a match in the donor registry.
