significance of abnormal results

Hi,

I was just filing old blood results and found some abnormal results that I can't ever remember discussing with my doctor. I assume they have no significance but on the off chance that he missed them, I thought I would ask here if anyone else has the same results.

I have had 3 tests for B2 microglobulin which have all come back elevated. I also found a result for atypical PANCA which also came back positive. I Googled the results and found references to multiple myeloma and lymphoma for the first test and ??vasculitis for the second test. I didn't look into the background of these diseases because I don't want to start thinking along the wrong lines. I also always have elevated ALP and very low cholesterol. If anyone knows if these tests can become abnormal because of transfusions and treatment rather to any underlying disease I would love to hear from you.

Thanks Chirley

I am due for another transfusion on Tuesday and i'm hoping to see my doctor then, but sometimes he's away at conferences or other hospitals.

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks anyway but the lack of response is an answer in itself. I assume that no one else has had these tests or at least tested positive for these tests. Oh well, I need to make my doctor hang around for more than 30secs and answer my questions.

I have never had those tests to my knowledge. I am sorry no one responded. Did you find out what your doctor said about it?
