New blood type discovery
Here's an interesting article on the discovery of two new blood proteins found on blood cells. Very rare but may be relevant for some.

How interesting!
The new blood types are called Langereis (positive or negative) and Junior (positive or negative). Most of us are positive for these proteins but there's a small but now-recognizable population who are negative, particularly among the Japanese and European Gypsies. It will now be possible to identify Langereis-matched and/or Junior-matched blood for those who need them for transfusions. |
