Long remission

Hello. I check in the posts every once in a while. I just wanted to give a little hope for those newly diagnosed. I was diagnosed, with SAA in 2000. I was treated with ATG in 2000 for a short remission. Then retreated with ALG in 2001. I am in remission and doing well. I know it is scary at first. Been there. But there is hope for a long remission.

Hi Connie, Congratulations on your remission! It's always encouraging to hear from those who are doing well!

Q: How are your counts now and what line responded first? Platelets, Hgb.?? Were you weaned very slowly the second time around?

Thanks :)

Hello again. Seems my platelets responded first. But it was a long slow climb for all lines. And yes, I was weaned very slowly. All of my counts are within normal range now. Although some go on the low normal range every now and then. Gets me worried, but then they jump back up again.

Thank you, Connie! My son just got his Port-o-Cath in and starts his ATG soon. It is encouraging to hear. I'm glad you're doing well! :)
