FDA approval for drug for low platelets

Hi all,
Now FDA has approved the first of many drugs in pipelines for thrombocytopenia - Nplate :). The drug is approved for immune thrombocytopenic purpura - a bleeding disease due to destruction of the platelets. This drug is not OK for patients with MDS - 22 of 44 patients with MDS got increased symptoms :( - but we can hope that one of the next drugs will be better for our disease.
Kind regards

Here are three previous threads about the testing and approval process for Nplate, the Amgen trade name for romiplostim. It was also called AMG 531.
Bad news about AMG 531/Romiplostim/Nplate

Another delay with new platelet drug

Info from FDA meeting about Nplate and MDS
