Dr. Rena Buckstein, MD, FRCP(c) Dr. Rena Buckstein will review the definition of MDS, incidence, prevalence, causes, classifications, prognosis, symptoms. She will discuss the available treatments for MDS and for whom they are not recommended. Finally, she will outline the importance for iron chelation in transfusion dependent patients and summarize the key areas of ongoing research.
