Promacta:When is WBC/ANC Too Low?

For AA. I see some here are getting treatment when their ANC is 0.6.
Mine is 0.3, before that held at 0.6 many months, always below 1.0, variable within this range. My Hem has never discussed need for treatment. My WBCs are always in the 2s, now 2.1.

Any info on when treatment is recommended would be great!
I've had a somewhat mild bug for 7 weeks I can't shake, antibiotics didn't help. Frequent infection is probably a factor in deciding if treatment is needed. On the other hand this infection so far has not become serious.

Low neutrophils

Hi suz!
You know we are all different and there are patients that manage well with very low neutrophils like 0.3. For low neutrophils we can get Neupogen or similar drugs.

Here is info about low neutophils: http://www.patient.co.uk/doctor/neut...openic-regimes
Kind regards
Birgitta-A
Taking 3 injections Nivestim (like Neuopogen) per week for low neutrophils

Thank you Birgitta-A. That's an excellent summary. Some of the treatment/prophylaxis meds may be different in the US but I'm sure my docs would have their regimens in place.
