Asheville / Hendersonville North Carolina Community of Hope
 
Would you like to connect with other bone marrow failure disease patients and families in Western North Carolina? The Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation is building a Community of Hope, volunteer-led support group, to create an ongoing, local organization supporting patients and families.
Our first meeting will be Saturday, October 8th, from 1:00 to 3 p.m. at the Henderson County Public Library, 301 N. Washington St., Hendersonville, NC. Please RSVP to wncmds@yahoo.com

Would you like to connect with other bone marrow failure disease patients and families in Western North Carolina? The Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation is building a Community of Hope, volunteer-led support group, to create an ongoing, local organization supporting patients and families.

Our third Community of Hope meeting will be Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 6:30 pm at Glenn Theater in the Heart Tower at Mission Hospital. Address is
509 Biltmore Ave., Asheville, NC 28801.

Our guest speaker will be Danna Park, MD, FAAP, FACP.
Medical Director, Integrative Healthcare Program Mission Hospitals System. She will focus her presentation on nutrition and integrative medicine.

On November 3rd Dr. Bayard Powell, Director at Law for the Comprehensive Cancer Center, Wake Forest Baptist Health Center, MDS Center of Excellence, will discuss current research. There will be a questions/answer session afterwards,. RSVP is required. email wncmds@yahoo.com for details.

The Asheville/Hendersonville Community of Hope has its next meeting on Saturday, April 13, 2013!

Would you like to connect with other bone marrow failure disease patients and families in your town? The Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation Communities of Hope, are volunteer-led local support groups, established to create an ongoing, local organization supporting patients and families. We hope you can attend the meeting in your hometown!

In addition, the guest speaker will be Dr. Kristin Daley. The topic will be the mental challenges of dealing with aplastic anemia and MDS from the perspectives of the patient and the caregiver. Dr. Daley is a clinical psychologist at Sylva Clinical Associates.
