Now Leukemia Free

That's the news from my doc at OHSU today, day +66.
Nov 2013 diagnosed with CMML, 2-3 years to live. Blasts were around 8%. Did 8 cycles of Decitibine.
Nov 2014, went in for transplant but CMML had changed into AML and blasts of 45%.
Did 28 day chemo conditioning 7+3.
Two weeks at home.
Then January 1 back to OHSU,chemo 5+2, and got my transplant on January 6th.

I have had no sign of GVH but we'll see when they start with drawing the Tacrilimus which is the immune-suppressant.

I am still tired and weary, have dry mouth but overall not bad at all.
Write if you have any questions.

John,

What great news! I was wondering how you were doing. I'm so glad to log into Marrowforums tonight and read your update.

I'm sure you must be tired, you have been through a lot!

May your new marrow continue to grow and heal you, and may you stay clear of the GvHD in the weeks and months ahead.

I hear spring is in the air there in Portland (I have family near there). Heading to the West Coast with my son soon to climb a mountain at Big Sur. I hope you will be feeling progressively stronger as well, and be able to do the things you enjoy most.

Well done, John! Wonderful news. All the very best with the Tacrolimus withdrawal - I hope doesn't cause you any difficulties. Keep posting!
