I am interested that Aranesp has not been mentioned for low Hgb. Don gets 300 mg every two weeks and that keeps his Hgb around 10. He is able to function reasonably well at that level. He just turned 80 earlier this fall and was diagnosis with MDS in 2006. Fortunately he hasn't needed any transfusions since summer of 2007. His MDS was secondary to chemo he received for non-Hodgkins lymphnoma almost 13 years earlier.
