I was just diagnosed with MDS at the age of 47 after 7 months of searching and countless tests. My local Hemotologist referred me to a specialist 4 hours from where I live but now I'm so glad he did. At least I know what I'm up against. My IPSS is intermediate-2 with cytopenias and complex chromosome abnormalities. Because of my young age, it is recommended that I have a bone marrow transplant in hope of a total cure. Has anyone been in this same situation? I have two grown daughters (one married and one single) and one teenage daughter still at home. It's really scary to think that I may never see my youngest daughter graduate from high school or hold my first grandchild.

This has been very difficult for my husband too. He is very concerned about my health and wants me to stop working.
