Prior to my transplant I had received over 100 units of PRBCs and was taking Exjade for iron chelation. My ferritin level was 524 and my transplant was a MUD with a 9 out of 10 HLA match...this was seven years ago this month (I was originally diagnosed in 2007 with 5q-).
