When I came to the hospital with neutropenic fever they took all kinds of tests and X-ray of the lungs in a hurry and then started iv treatment with Zosyn without waiting for the reasults of the cultures. They had no time to wait for a specialist in infectius diseases.

They never found the focus of the infection (I have a port too) but within a few hours I felt OK and had no fever. I stayed in the hospital one week treated with Zosyn every 8:th hour a few days and then antibiotic pills.
Nellie doesn´t have neutropenic fever (almost sepsis) as I had and they will be able to treat her infection successfylly
