I really don't follow the latest research on transplant closely but this got me wondering how they decide where to harvest from. I would think it's easier on the donor to do blood stem cell. Seems less traumatic.
Wonder if it makes sense to transplant with BM cells first and if the graft fails, follow up with a second attempt using blood stem cells. I don't know how many transplants fail to graft. Is it a big percentage?
