Several reasons:
1) Other health problems that prevent the transplant.
2) Difficulty in finding a donor.
3) Cost .... they quoted me at $433,000.
4) Risk .... it is a roll of the dice and the stakes are high. It is a very difficult procedure for most people. Very few sail through it smoothly.
