hi nina,

i must echo the comments from ruth - it's great to hear from you on your "special day". thanks for sharing it with us

your positive attitude reminds me of my son's on the day he received his BMT. for weeks prior, he had been so poorly, he wasn't even able to communicate with his identical twin brother (they were 10 years old). but he knew what was happening and that "D-Day" would be the day he would start to get better. even though he had been through so much - the ATG and chemo prior was very rough on him. but it was almost like he had mentally wiped the slate clean and was ready to face the real world again as a person without illness. when his brother handed over the bone marrow, he chatted away like there was nothing wrong - it was the first time since being ill, that he had communicated with his brother in such a warm and optimistic way

all the best nina. i hope the road forward is a steady one without too many bumps.
