Hello everyone,

I hope to see many marrowforum members and their families at our patient education day in Toronto on October 4, 2008. Feedback from patients and family members who attended last year was very positive and this year the volunteers organizing the event have outdone themselves for AAMAC's 20th anniversary.

New this year is a pediatric breakout session that will be of interest to families with children diagnosed with a bone marrow failure disease and a session on advocating for your health - something that will be of interest to patients who want to see government funding for new medications or want to learn how to advocate about other issues related to their health.

Back by popular demand are sessions with patients sharing their personal stories between presentations by leading medical experts in the diseases and bone marrow transplantation. This year's medical expert speakers are from Vancouver, Ottawa and Toronto. So that's just a sampling of what I'm sure will be another great day. To register for this free event (breakfast and lunch included) visit www.aamac.ca and click on Meetings and Events.

There is no cost, but you do need to pre-register using the registration form on our website so that we can get a sense of how many people plan to attend. Please also note that there are a limited number of travel sponsorships available on a first-come, first-served basis to help patients outside the Greater Toronto Area travel to the event.

See you in a couple of weeks! Chris.
