Basic facts about Anadrol (oxymetholone) can also be found at these sites:
anadrol.com
druglib.com
drugs.com
However, according to an RN at the National Institutes of Health, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, physicians at NIH may try Anadrol, but only as a last resort, when other treatments fail, and only for certain patients. When they do, the patient's counts need to be monitored very closely.

The NIH does not consider Anadrol to be a first-line treatment for aplastic anemia. There were studies in past years involving oxymetholone for AA (example, PDF file, 624K) but oxymetholone is not being studied in any current NIH trials for the treatment of aplastic anemia.
