The U.S. House of Representatives is on its summer recess, so elected officials are in their home state until September 8, 2009.

The AA&MDSIF Grassroots Action Center has issued an alert detailing how you can contact your elected officials while they are in your state.

When speaking to your representative or his or her staff, urge them to cosponsor the Bone Marrow Failure Disease Research and Treatment Act (H.R. 1230), if they haven't already (see list below).

When speaking to your senators or their staff, urge them to preserve funding for the Department of Defense Bone Marrow Failure Disease research program in the 2010 Defense Appropriations Act.
