Zolinza, Idarubicin, Cytarabine combo

This is some encouraging news for higher risk patients. When I emailed Dr. Guillermo Garcia-Manero a few months ago about this regimen, he was very pleased with the results, especially for those that went on to transplant.

Here are the highlights that I saw:

85% overall response rate with 76% complete remission rate
Median survival at a median of 82 week follow-up was 82 weeks

MDS RCMD w/grade 2-3 fibrosis. Allo-MUD Feb 26, 2014. Relapsed August 2014. Free and clear of MDS since November 2014 after treatment with Vidaza and Rituxan. Experiencing autoimmune attack on CNS thought to be GVHD, some gut, skin and ocular cGVHD. Neuropathy over 80% of body.
