It is quite OK to ask about affiliations - if you want to publish results in a medical journal you have to declare affiliations as you know.
I can't find any reports about Dacogen for low risk MDS patients. There were several abstracts about Dacogen at ASH 2009. Here is one:

Yes, the DNA and RNA pathways are very complicated. I read a very interesting article that I posted here some months ago but I can't find it now.
