What is the Vidaza procedure?

I have an unusual situation, so don't think my question is odd. Thanks.
I've read about Vidaza injection cycles like 10 daily shots and then 18 days wait to the next cycle. My question is, can these shots be given by a patient at home or must you be constantly monitored for you blood counts each day? Must you be hospitalized? I hear about counts falling after the start etc. Anyone done their own injections? Thanks!

Vidaza administration

Hi Dick,
You know Vidaza is a "cytotoxic (toxic for cells) drug and, as with other potentially toxic compounds, caution should be exercised when handling and preparing VIDAZA suspensions."

As you can see (2.6) it is quite complicated to administrate Vidaza and like other cytotoxic drugs Vidaza should be given in a clinic with nurses used to handle cytotoxic drugs and take care of everything they have used during the administration of the drug.

Kind regards

Vidaza

Dick, on Mondays through Friday they do mine at the clinic treatment room. They have trained my wife to mix it (wearing special) gloves) and give me the shots at home. My cycle is 28 days - 7 on 21 recover HI HI.
