Please see the Marrowforums H1N1 (Swine) Flu Advisory thread, where we posted the official advice we collected.

You are welcome to join that discussion too and discuss your situation.

H1N1 Vaccine

My husband, Ron has MDS and is considered in Remission, but, has to continue the Vidaza Injections for "Maitenance".... to keep it in remission. His doctor advised him to get the regular Flu Shot (Which he did on 10/09/09), and the H1N1 Vaccine when available - BUT not to take the "Live Virus" mist. Today Ron received the H1N1 Vaccine by injection, along with begining his 8th Cycle of Vidaza treatments. He's feeling just fine.

I was told to get both the flu and H1N1 vaccine and have received both. (Not the live ones.)

I was told to get both. I've only had the flu shot so far, as the H1N1 vaccine isn't available in my area yet. The flu shot had no negative effect on my counts.

My daughter came down with H1N1 over the weekend. It is tearing through her school right now. Luckily, it was mild, and I didn't get it.
