20 Months tx independant
As of March 17th, I am now 20 months transfusion independant thanks to Valproic Acid.
This second round of meds, has had me responding to high RBC numbers but having said that......I am bouncing around the mid teens to low 20's. Which is still awesome and nothing to complain about. |

20 months - that's great! I'm not sure what you mean by mid-teens low 20's though. That can't be a HGB or RBC count?
Do you still ride and do agility? I booked a riding lesson for tomorrow. I'm having a tx in the morning, and hope my chest cold is a bit better, otherwise it will be a low-key lesson which is fine by me. Had to skip agility last night but feeling better today. I hate having a cold. Deb |

Oh dear I really messed up that post ^^^
Should be, second round of meds (VPA) isn't working as well as it did the first time, my counts have been in the 120's to mid 112 Hemoglobin. We have now, increased the dose to 250 mg 3x daily instead of 2x. I was hoping it would bring my counts up a bit further but not yet. Yes I am riding and still competing in agility with my dogs, crossing my fingers that my counts don't go any lower for the regional championships which are in the end of May. |
