mds/aml
Has anyone suddenly not been able to see? Is this a sign of end stage?

bebop,
Loss of vision isn't one of the common signs of end of life, as far as I know. Vision can certainly be affected by medications. What does your Dad's doctor say about it? The National Cancer Institute has a short article named Signs That Death Is Near that outlines physical symptoms that commonly occur when the body is failing. I hope your Dad rallies and that you well be able to dwell on the positive as you comfort him. |

thanks for you your response. I just got him home from the dr. she said the vision thing is not a normal part of mds but it could be from the anemia. His hemo today was 6.3. His transfusions seem to no longer be doing much good. He had 2 units of blood 2 weeks ago and as far as we can tell it only brought it up to 7.9 and now a week later and it is down to the 6.3 other counts are not doing so well either. His mind today is really bad too. really bad confused
