Question Curious/Cataracts

just wondering how many with MDS out there have had cataract surgery....wondering if excess iron causes cataracts....and excess iron plays a role in bone marrow failure.....

Prednisone effect...

About a month before my MDS diagnosis was confirmed, I was treated on very high-level prednisone IV in ICU. One effect of that treatment which was gradually tapered off was to affect my sight. My peripheral vision was reduced and cateract growth accelerated. I had to have eye surgery because of this and the MDS.
