Rituxin for MDS?
Has anyone heard of Rituxin or Rituxin in combo with another drug for MDS patients? I am 4.5 months past transplant and following an early round of CMV around 1st month post, my counts went down. I am currently PRBC/tran dependent and frequently get Neupogen for my whites.I have not flipped over to my donor's blood type yet. My plates hover at 23-30. Last week my dr. said she may consider Rituxin, but I don't see anything on the net regarding it and MDS.
thanks, Donna

donna,
i have seen a few instances where rituxan has been used for mds patients post transplant. most commonly when there is some degree of cd20 positive cells, or it is sometimes used to address post-transplant ITP. i believe that another member is going through this treatment currently post-transplant. you might try searching the posts for rituxan. good luck with the treatment.
