This just in...

Measles virus used to put woman's cancer into remission - see CNN report

http://www.cnn.com/2014/05/15/health...cer-remission/

In part "...researchers gave her and five other multiple myeloma patients a dose of a highly concentrated, lab-engineered measles virus similar to the measles vaccine. In fact, the dose Erholtz received contained enough of the virus to vaccinate approximately 10 million people."

I read this article yesterday, but it only mentioned 2 patients. The lady who is Cancer Free/Remission and another patient that apparently did not go into remission. In the article I read it said that they believe the super high-dose measles vaccine helped this particular patient bc her tumors were on her bones as opposed to tumors in the muscles. It is thought that perhaps delivering the dose(s) directly into the affected areas/tumors might be another way to go.

Interesting study

Cancers fought by engineered viruses...

Actually there were six patients in the initial Mayo Clinic trial; however, only Stacy Erholtz was "cured" (cancer-free for 9 months).

The process known as virotherapy is not a new concept. This shows a one-in-six success for first use in humans. Much more to do!
