Screening for donor T cell characteristics will optimize donor selection and ultimately lead to more successful transplants in an older population.

Now that they have measurable factors to predict transplant success, matched siblings are no longer automatically considered to be the best donor candidates.

Improving predictability with treatment options is significant especially with BMTs. And being able to fine tune a treatment to an individual for improved outcomes is a plus too.
