Question Vidaza

Has anyone who has or is on Vidaza done what I have done
1) First to the 6th round of azacitidine had140mg and then in the 7th round due to side effects had azacitidine reduced by half 70mg 8th round had it increased to 80mg and the 9th round increased to 90mg
2) my counts had climbed and the blasts had decrease but and here is the big but I'm slowly slipping back. now I want to have the azacitidine increased to 110mg need some help to convince the reg that this is the best thing for me. My haematologist is away on holiday and the junior reg is not in the ball park as far as azacitidine is concern. So when I go next time I want as much information as I can in convincing them that full dose of the drug will get my counts back on track again.

The Vidaza is usually adjusted depending on the tolerability of side effects by the patient or by low blood counts (primarily platelets and neutophils). I am on Vidaza right now and my platelets dropped to 20 after the first cycle. That was the bottom and my platelets are now at 160. But, the doctors reduced my Vidaza from 160 mg down to 110 mg for the 2nd cycle because they didn't want platelets and neutrophils to go lower. Since my numbers went up I am back to the 160 mg.
