103 days past SCT with sister donor

Hi-- new to forum. I am 103 days past my SCT for MDS, with modified conditioning (I am 63 yeras old and otherwise healthy). In general, outcome at this point is good-- blasts were at 8%;now at 1%. All three cell lines are 93% my sister's. The chromosome deletions are gone and normal karotype detected. WBCs and ANCs stable at 4.o ad 2.2; platelets so-so at around 70. Big problem is hemoglobin-- I am getting transfusions of RBCs weekly to keep hemoglobin in the 8.0-8.5 range .. doc thinks its because my cellularity is very low-- 10% -- but that it will come up with time.

Has anyone else experienced low cellularity after transplant? If so, did you just stay patient or is there something to do about it?

Blood type??

Just wondering if your sister is a different blood type than you? If you are switching blood types, that can cause low hemoglobin.

still no hemoglobin

Hi,

It has been a while since I have posted. Yes, my sister and i are different blood types although we are a 10/10 HLA match. It has now been 5 months since my transplant. My WBCs, ANCs and platelets are strong but my red cell line is not producing even though engraftment is evident. My EPO is at a high level. A retic count shows only .1 retic cells. I am 2 weeks off tacrilimous and on a steroid. My transfusions are starting to last longer-- 12 days. Has anyone else seen this situation?
